Month Of Action for the Uluru Statement

Welcome to the September Month of Action for the Uluru Statement. This month we are inviting you to take action to lift our voices in support of the Uluru Statement.

Week 1: Make a Submission to the Senate

The first action we want you to take is to let the government know that enacting the proposals in the Uluru Statement is important to Australia’s social cohesiveness, democracy, and international image. To achieve a fuller expression of Australia’s nationhood - the government must adopt all proposals in the Uluru Statement from the Heart.

And it just so happens that there is a Senate Committee seeking your opinion via submissions, due by 30 September 2019!

We need you to help us by making a submission, and by helping us convince your friends, family, and organisations to make submissions as well. And we’ve made it easy for you.

Click here to download the template submission.
Don’t forget to fill in the sections where your personal or organisational experience moves you to make the submission!

When you’ve completed your submission, send it to legcon.sen@aph.gov.au and copy in support@1voiceuluru.org if you would like us to share your views about why Australia needs a First Nations Voice on social media during the month of action. You can also share your submission on your own social media. Don’t forget to use the hashtag #UluruStatement

For more information about the inquiry click here.

Week 2: Show your support on social media

This week show your support online and ask others to be part of our campaign. You can add a frame to your Facebook profile picture or share our campaign on Facebook.

If you’re not on Facebook, you can print this poster and display it in your office or in a window at home.
